Zee acquires broadcasting rights of 40 films

MUMBAI: The Subhash Chandra owned Zee Network has acquired the broadcasting rights of close to 40 new and old movies.


 


The company has acquired the films’ worldwide broadcasting rights (including India) and also the Free TV, Pay TV, Pay Per View and DTH rights from AA Nadiadwalla’s AG Vision, Feroz Nadiadwalla’s Base Industries Group, Prakash Mehra Productions and Guddu Dhanoa’s Bhagwan Chitra Madir.


 


The movies that the company has acquired from Feroz Nadiadwalla are Fool N Final (with effect from 1 December, 2007), Awara Pagal Deewana (with effect from 3 December, 2008), Aan – Men At Work (with effect from 3 December, 2009), Kartoos (with effect from 31 January, 2009) and Ram Shashtra (with immediate effect).


 


Rights of 12 Prakash Mehra’s movies including Zanjeer, Laawaris, Muqaddar Ka Sikander, Sharabi, Khoon Pasina, Jaadugar, Zindagi Ek Juaa, Jwalamukhi, Mohabbat Ke Dushman, Himalay Se Ooncha, Dalaal and Ghungroo have also been acquired with effect from 1 October, 2009.


 


Zee has acquired the rights of 24 movies from AA Nadiadwalla namely Opera House, Ek Raaz, Mahabharat, Kurukshetra (Gujarati), Mahabharatham (Tamil), Patthar Ke Sanam, Izzat, Meri Bhabhi, Mela, Dil Ka Raaja, Raampur Ka Lakshman, Shaitaan, Bundle Baaz, Parvarish, Khoon Aur Paani, Jhutha Sach, Muddat, Watan Ke Rakhwale, Sone Pe Suhaga, Ghar Ho To Aisa, Pratikaar, Prampara, Lahoo Ke Do Rang and Hera Pheri.


 


The worldwide broadcasting rights (including India) and also the Free TV, Pay TV, Pay Per View, DTH and cable TV rights of Guddu Dhanoa’s recently released film Big Brother starring Sunny Deol and Priyanka Chopra have also been acquired by Zee.
