Box Office: Gabbar Is Back Opens To Record Breaking First Day Collection

Akshay-Kumar-GabbarAkshay Kumar starrer Gabbar Is Back opened to a good start on May 1, Friday. The film is doing amazingly well at the Box Office. With occupancy rate of 40 to 45%, Gabbar Is Back managed to collect around Rs. 11.75 crore net (117.5 million) at the Box Office on its first day. Friday being a holiday, worked as a plus point for director Krish’s  Gabbar Is Back. With such good numbers on its first day at the Box Office, Gabbar Is Back has become the biggest opener in Bollywood this year. Until now Ranbir Kapoor’s Roy, which minted around Rs. 9.40 crore (94 million) at the Box Office, had the biggest first day collection amongst Hindi films in 2015.

Akshay Kumar not only broke Roy’s record but he also broke his last film, Baby’s first day collection record with huge margin with his latest release Gabbar Is Back. The action thriller drama film is doing very well in most parts of Mumbai, Pune, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Considering the fact that Gabbar Is Back released on a holiday, film’s first day collection doesn’t surprise us as it was expected from it. The coming weekend will tell whether the film is a hit at the Box Office or not. However, the film has received mix reviews from the audiences and critics, as some thoroughly enjoyed Akshay’s action hero avatar, while some reacted differently. Nonetheless, the film is doing well at the Box Office and it is assumed that it will continue to do so the following weekend.

Gabbar Is Back is packed with action, drama and thriller. Akshay plays the role of a daredevil police officer in the film. Directed by KrishGabbar Is Back also stars Shruti Haasan.
