Box Office: No One Killed Jessica takes a slow start

MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures’ No One Killed Jessica starring Rani Mukherji and Vidya Balan, has taken a slow start at the box office in India. While the movie’s opening in the morning and afternoon shows was ho-hum, the evening shows picked up due to positive word of mouth.
On its opening day, the movie’s net collections were approximately Rs 32.50 million (Rs 3.25 crore). This can be termed as a decent opening for a film of this genre with two actresses in the lead. The film’s positive word of mouth is likely to help in increasing footfalls at theaters over the weekend.
On the other hand, Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan’s collections dropped drastically in the second week. While TMK did net collections of approximately Rs 490 million (Rs 49 crore) in its first week, the net collections in the second week were approximately Rs 90 million (Rs 9 crore). This takes the total box office collections of the movie to Rs 580 million (Rs 58 crore).
