MUMBAI: Brian Burkin has joined Sony Pictures Entertainment’s International Motion Picture Production division as Senior Vice President Business Affairs and Operations, it was announced by Columbia Tristar Motion Picture Group president Deborah Schindler and Columbia Tristar Motion Picture Group vice chairman Gareth Wigan.
Burkin will report to Schindler working out of the New York office. In his role, Burkin will be responsible for negotiating deals and managing relationships with writers, directors, and producers in film markets around the world as he oversees business affairs for the division.
Schindler said, “Brian is able to handle the most sensitive deals with finesse and precision. His knowledge of the law and respect for the way business in done in different markets around the world make him the perfect choice to lead our division’s business affairs and operations. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
