MUMBAI: Imax Corporation, DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures International have inked an agreement to offer the sci-fi western thriller Cowboys & Aliens in select international digital Imax theatres day-and-date with each territory’s release date, beginning in August.
The release marks the continuation of the relationship between Imax, Paramount Pictures International and director Jon Favreau, whose most recent film, Iron Man 2, grossed more than $25 million on 262 Imax screens globally. The filmmaking team includes producers Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, the film is based on a Platinum Studios graphic novel created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg.
