MUMBAI: Image Entertainment, Inc. has acquired all North American rights to The Other Man, starring Liam Neeson, Antonio Banderas and Laura Linney.
The film will be released in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on 7 August, 2009 and expanding 14 August, 2009 with distribution and marketing being handled by Image Entertainment.
The Other Man, based on a short story by Bernhard Schlink, was written and directed by Richard Eyre along with co-writer Charles Wood. The producers on the film include Frank Doelger, Tracey Scoffield, Michael Dreyer, Mary Beth O’Connor and David Richenthal, with original music by Stephen Warbeck.
Image acquired the rights to the film from UK-based Rainmark Films and will oversee the distribution of the theatrical release in North America. The film is a co-production between Rainmark Films and New York-based Gotham Productions. Image Entertainment will also release the film for the home entertainment market including digital and broadcast.
"Liam Neeson’s mesmerizing performance in The Other Man will give moviegoers a chance to re-connect with him on the big screen in his first film since the box-office smash Taken. The film fits perfectly in our overall plans to build a portfolio of unique and entertaining films," said Image Entertainment senior vice president, theatrical Garrett M. Lee.
