Jaman launches live status feed for Oscars with Facebook

MUMBAI: Jaman.com has tied up with Facebook.com to launch a live status feed using Facebook Connect, enabling viewers around the globe to share comments about the Oscars on the Web.

Will Slumdog Millionaire win Best Picture? People can go to Jaman.com/oscar 09 during the event to share comments with friends and people in every country. By utilizing Facebook Connect, the syndicated live feed on Jaman’s site will allow Facebook users to update their status and converse with film fans across a number of entertainment sites.

"The Oscars have historically been a social event, and we’re excited to see Jaman as one of the innovative sites integrating the Facebook live feed widget to give users even more ways to interact with friends and family, by posting status updates and seeing what others are saying about the show," said, Facebook creative marketing manager Randi Zuckerberg.

For this Oscar week, Jaman is showcasing the film nominated for Best Documentary Man on Wire, the riveting story of an aerialist’s high-wire walk between the World Trade Center Towers.

"Everyone has opinions about movies and Jaman loves to find new ways to enrich the social interaction around films," commented Jaman executive producer Geetanjali Dhillon. "This great collaboration gives Facebook and Jaman users across the world a real-time chat about the films they like and don’t like this year."
