Mumbai: Warner/Chappell Music has named Scott McDowell as Head of Legal and Business Affairs. Based in Los Angeles and effective immediately, McDowell will continue to serve as Senior Vice President and will now oversee the Legal and Business Affairs department. He will report to Scott Francis, President, Warner/Chappell Music and Chairman and CEO, Warner/Chappell Music U.S.
A music industry veteran with more than 18 years of legal and business experience, McDowell will be responsible for overseeing all of the company’s contract negotiations affecting copyrights, licenses, royalties and fees, as well as other related financial and/or business matters. McDowell succeeds Warner/Chappell Executive Vice President of Legal and Business Affairs Ed Pierson, who has decided to pursue new opportunities.
Francis said, "Scott’s wealth of industry knowledge and extensive experience with industry legal matters will ensure a smooth transition.
