MUMBAI: Veteran music director Khayyam will turn 81 on 18 February 2007.
Khayyam is best known for his melodious compositions for films like Umrao Jaan, Kabhi Kabhi, Trishul and others.
Khayyam continues to be active in the field of music. He is currently composing music for Gautam Ghosh’s Yatra that features Rekha, another film Bazaar-E-Husn, which is based on Munshi Premchand’s novel and Main Phir Aaoonga, which is based on the true story of a handicapped boy. Khayyam, it is learnt, is also working on the music for a television serial to be directed by Lekh Tandon for Doordarshan and for an album produced by Anita Singhvi.
