Nachom-ia Kumpasar, a Konkani musical film made as a tribute to the unsung musicians of Goa, bagged three honours at the 62nd National Film Awards with two awards and one special mention.

The film will receive the award for Best Production Design for recreating spaces from a different era and with minute attention to detail. It will also be awarded the Best Konkani film for its nostalgic recovery of a distinctive musical legacy, as told through the rollercoaster lives of its practitioners that has remained unsung despite its influence on Bombay cinema.
Nachom-ia Kumpasar marks the feature film debut of ad film maker Bardroy Barretto. ‘Nachoaea Kumpasar’, is a story centered on the Musicians of the Golden Era of Music in Goa, it is a gripping tale of romance, a celebration of music.
Commenting on the same, Bardroy Barretto director Nachom-ia Kumpasar said; “Nachom-ia Kumpasar is a musical tribute to Goa’s unsung heroes. We tried to carry that feeling throughout this film and the team put in a lot of hard work. It is an honor to be recognized and awarded for our efforts.”
Commenting on the same the film’s producer Angelo Braganza said; “I am elated with the National award it is a token of appreciation to all the hard work we put into this film.”

Team Nachom-ia Kumpasar is very optimistic of the film doing well. They have held special screenings of the film in Goa which have received a very positive response. They are holding a screening in Mumbai on Saturday 28th March 2015. The makers of the film would want to take it to various Film Festivals and are hoping for the best.
