Up-and-coming film and television star Jennifer Sciole has signed on to play Emily Basel, in the new romantic comedy feature film Political Engagement, under development by politician turned movie producer and director Gregory Parker, and his brother Christopher Parker of Two Brothers Productions, LLC. “We are excited to have her attached to this project,” Parker said. Sciole just completed lead roles in three feature films due out next year- Winning Hand, Ella at Five, and The Boss. She has been in several motion picture and television productions over the past year. In addition, Sciole is signed to be a presenter/trophy model at the 10th Annual PRISM Awards which will air on FX Network April 30.
Political Engagement is about a divorced Mayor of Atlanta, who is in a very close campaign for U.S. Senate. He finds that his womanizing ways has caused him to lose favour with voters. In an effort to regain that favor and win the election, he enlists the aid of his ex-wife and plans a fake engagement. The pre-production is planned for August 2006 with production beginning in late 2006 or early 2007. The theatrical release is planned to coincide with the Presidential Election of 2008. To provide a twist, Two Brothers Productions will actually run a candidate in the election under the pseudo name, Chris Palmer, the lead character in the film, which will blur the line between reality and fiction. Lisa Raye is considering the female lead, Catherine Mason. The short list for the male lead, Jeff Palmer, includes Jamie Foxx, Morris Chestnut, Shemar Moore, D.B. Woodside, Mel Jackson, and Roger Cross.
Other actors on the wish/consideration list are Bow Wow as Jason Palmer and Josh Lucas as Tex Jones, Beyonce Knowles, Jonathan Silverman, Jennifer Esposito and Keshia Knight Pulliam.
