MUMBAI: Virgin Entertainment Group, North America has opened retail space inside one of California’s most famous concert venues, the Hollywood Bowl.
Virgin Megastore/Hollywood Bowl opened its doors 22 June, in the heart of the world’s entertainment capital, Hollywood, California.
Virgin Megastores, already known for its selection of music, film, books and games will now house a mini-version of the brand’s famous retail outlet inside the legendary amphitheatre. The Virgin Megastore/Hollywood Bowl will offer concert goers a broad and eclectic music and DVD merchandise assortment to appeal to the lifestyles of today’s entertainment consumer. The mini Megastore will be open two hours prior, during the performance and two hours after each Hollywood Bowl concert for music fans to browse and buy.
“We are thrilled to continue to commit to the future of entertainment retail in the Los Angeles market. The new location will allow us to further build on our successes catering to the true music aficionados, while also giving the local community an exciting shopping experience right in their own neighborhood,” said Virgin Entertainment Group International CEO Simon Wright.
Virgin continues to expand the company’s brand in the Hollywood area. In 2005, Virgin opened a new west coast flagship along Hollywood Boulevard. Virgin Megastore, Hollywood, situated between the Kodak Theater and the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, has benefited from high brand visibility in the very heart of the world’s entertainment capital. The Megastore along with the space at The Hollywood Bowl will continue to allow Virgin to play a part in the continued rejuvenation of Hollywood.
“Virgin Megastores have long been the destination for the true music fan to browse and buy and we are excited to have their presence here at the Hollywood Bowl. It will be a great partnership between a fantastic concert venue and a world-class lifestyle retailer. We hope to make Virgin feel right at home here at the Bowl and we look forward to working with Virgin on this new venture,” said Hollywood Bowl vice president and general manager Arvind Manocha.
The mini-Megastore will remain open throughout the Hollywood Bowl summer season, which wraps up in October. The opening of Virgin Megastore/Hollywood Bowl will continue to strengthen the brand’s presence in Southern California. The business will continue to operate the iconic Virgin Megastore on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, as well as the flagship at Hollywood and Highland.
