On the third day of argument of Salman Khan’s 2002 hit and run case, the prosecutor Pradeep Gharat informed the court that conduct at the time of incident shows that actor is guilty.

Before additional Sessions Judge DW Deshpande, the prosecutor said that Salman Khan vanished from the accident spot in 2002 instead of helping the injured victims. In his final argument he also said that the conduct of the accused needs to be analysed.
Citing the testimony of witness Francis Fernandes and also the friend of Salman Khan living in the same area of the incident, Gharat said that their statement make it clear that the actor had run away from the spot after the incident.
Gharat also said that Fernandes and his wife rushed out of their home after they heard the loud noise and saved the people.
He also said that if the driver was there at the time of incident, the case would have been different. He said, “Men may lie, circumstances do not,” while rejecting driver Ashok Singh’s statement that he was behind the wheel at the time of incident.

During the last trial, driver Ashok Singh was asked why was he silent for the last 12 years and didn’t come up with the statement before. The driver in his last statement said that it was he behind the wheel during the accident and not Salman Khan.
The prosecution stated that it seems to be brought up witness whose contention was belated and introduced only towards the end of the court proceedings.
Salman Khan who was present at the court during the last trail said that it was his driver on the wheel during the 2002 hit and run case killing one and injuring four at the time of accident.
For the first time in 13 years Salman Khan gave his statement on 2002 hit and run case on March 27, 2015. The actor in his statement said that he wasn’t driving the car, which rammed over people, killing one person and injuring four. In fact the actor denied all the charges that he has been claimed with.

He also claimed that it was his driver who was driving the actor. He said that since his door was jammed, he had to get out of the car from the driver’s side.
