Mumbai: Sajid Nadiadwala has signed Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone to be a part of his next film Kambakkht Ishq.
The film stars Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in the lead.
Kambakkht Ishq will be shot in Universal Studios, Los Angeles. The pre-production work will commence within a week.
In the film, Kumar plays a Hollywood stuntman. So the producers found Stallone’s inclusion, who will be playing himself, apt.
Nadiadwala says, "We have signed Sylvester Stallone to be a part of Kambakkth Ishq. Since Kambakkth Ishq is based in Hollywood it made perfect sense to appoint casting agents in Hollywood and cast mainstream Hollywood stars. Kambakkth Ishq is one of our most ambitious ventures to date and we didn’t want to leave any stone unturned."
Nadiadwala has officially appointed Susan Paley Abranson and Justine Hempe, the casting directors of reality TV show Enoturage in the US, as the casting agents for the Hollywood stars for Kambakkth Ishq.
The line producer of Kambakkht Ishq in LA Prashant Shah adds, "We are yet to work out the logistics and things will be confirmed shortly. We are also looking at other Hollywood names to join the cast of Kambakkht Ishq and we shall be making a formal announcement very soon on that front as well."
Says director Sabir Khan, "I have been working on the script for a long time now, and it’s an exciting merger of Hollywood and Indian cinema. It is like a dream come true."
