MUMBAI: Jaman.com is increasing its library of content and expanding into the European marketplace. With international members accounting for more than 70 per cent of the site’s users, Jaman marks its initial global expansion by introducing its first localized site in the United Kingdom.
Industry veteran David Fischer, former executive vice president and managing director of MySpace and Fox Interactive Media, will serve as managing director of Jaman’s UK and international operations. Based in London, Fischer will be responsible for international business operations.
The UK site debuts with more than 1000 titles, including those from leading film companies such as BFI (British Film Institute), Pathé Films, ContentFilms and Axiom Films.
Jaman also announced the addition of a number of new titles to its global collection, including feature length films and series from Cinelan, Reality Entertainment and Mondo Mini.
The newly-acquired content complements Jaman’s library of world cinema titles, which includes international dramas, comedies, documentaries and shorts, Japanese anime titles and Bollywood hits. Globally, Jaman has more than 4,500 films in its catalogue and plans to continue launching localized sites in a number of regions.
"In a little over a year, our unique library of films has helped us grow into audiences across the globe. With our new UK site and acquired content, we are not only able to continue to deliver high quality films, but are able to cater that content to specific audiences around the world," said Jaman CEO and founder Gaurav Dhillon.
