Mumbai: Introduced in January with the special screening of Slumdog Millionaire, the Myspace black curtain screening recently had its second screening with Tom Cruise starrer Valkyrie.
The members on Myspace India were privy to watching the film a day prior to its national release at a south Mumbai theatre. The initiative carried out by Myspace is aimed at getting users to interact off the social networking platform and also integrate a film to generate word of mouth around the film. Present at the screening were over 200 members of Myspace India.
The users present at the screening were also allowed to participate in the ground promotion activities at the venue and had the chance at winning the film merchandise. Speaking about the initiative Myspace India country manager Hari Krishnan said, "We are absolutely committed to driving and innovating in this space, to be the first to present the best movies and to deliver user experience both online and off."
It is learnt that series of more screenings under the same initiative are planned showcasing both Hollywood and Bollywood films.
