MUMBAI: Hugh Jackman and the character that launched him to superstardom — the mutant anti-hero Wolverine – will be immortalized in wax at a gala event at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, on 29 April , 2009.
Jackman joins a gallery of notable figures from the worlds of history, politics and pop culture – including recent inductee Michelle Obama – to receive the honor of seeing himself (and his on-screen alter ego Wolverine) transformed into a wax figure.
Madame Tussauds attractions manager Rosita Chapman commented, "The new wax figure of Wolverine is sure to be a favorite with visitors from all over the world.”
The event precedes the 1 May launch of Jackman’s fourth turn as Wolverine: X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in which he stars and serves as a producer. Jackman previously played the character in X-Men, X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the first chapter in the X-Men saga, unites Wolverine with several other legends of the X-Men universe, in an epic revolution that pits the mutants against powerful forces determined to eliminate them.
