MUMBAI : Veteran actor Vijay Arora, who starred in more than 100 films, passed away on Friday at his Juhu residence in Mumbai.
Best remembered for his performance in the 1970s Nasir Hussain film Yaadon Ki Baraat, the 60-year-old actor succumbed to a stomach ailment he had been suffering from, for the past few months.
A 1971 acting graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India, Arora acted in many television serials as well, notably Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, where he portrayed the character of Meghnad.
“Dad acted in more tan 100 films, he was an actor, producer and director. He was suffering from a stomach ailment for the past few months. The funeral was held this afternoon and the chautha ceremony will be held on Monday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Kings Apartment, Juhu,” says the actor’s son Farad Arora.
