Meanwhile, Mani Rathnam’s is busy completing Guru. The film, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Vidya Balan, Mallika Sherawat and above all, Mithun Chakraborty, is a leaf out of the late tycoon Dhirubhai Ambani’s life and times. It has been shot extensively at the Binny Mills in Chennai, where a set of the bustling Pydhonie area of south-central Mumbai was erected, depicting the 1962-80 period. With Mani’s eagle eye for detail, one can be sure of a visual treat. Instead of Dassehra, Guru will now be released during Christmas period – 22 nd December.
After Guru, Mani Ratnam will direct Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and probably Kareena Kapoor in Bobby Bedi and Adlabs’ film tentatively titled Lajjo.
