MUMBAI: Aamir Khan’s TV debut ‘Satyamev Jayate’ is a success, not only in terms of viewership, but also in terms of the positive actions that have ensued.
After the first episode that elaborated upon female foeticide, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Rajasthan Chief Justice have given a preliminary nod to set up a fast track court to settle impending cases of illegal abortion in the state.
Now, post the second episode which discussed child sex abuse at length, the Lok Sabha has passed the child Protection Bill which was pending for a long time. An ecstatic Aamir Khan wrote on his blog, “Great news! The Lok Sabha has passed the `Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Bill` today. Unbelievable! Super News!”.
