Mumbai: After hosting the IIFA in 2005, Amsterdam is now celebrating with the Amsterdam India Festival. The festival will screen Satyajit Ray’s Apu trilogy, Sanjay Dutt starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai, Onir’s My Brother Nikhil, Amitabh Bachchan starrer The Last Lear, Vishal Bharadwaj’s Makdee, Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s Kaalpurush and Rekha starrer Yaatra amongst others.
Artists from India will be seen performing at the festival including the likes of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, the Nizami and Niyazi brothers, Paandit Ravi Shankar, Ulhas Kashalkar and Sanjay Subramaniam.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, director of My Brother Nikhil – Onir, who will be attending the festival, said, "It is great that my film is being shown at the festival. I feel honored that a film that I made three years back is still being appreciated and is being screened."
Apart from the films and the musical performances the festival will also showcase an exhibition of Bollywood posters, discussions and works or art by Indian artists.
