MUMBAI: Mukta Movies Distributors will release Khanna & Iyer on 30 March 2007 worldwide.
The film has been produced by Zee Telefilms in association with Mukta Tele Media and has been directed by new writer-director Hemant Hegde and stars winners of the Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj 2006, Sarwar Ahuja and Aditi Sharma.
Hegde has directed over two thousand episodes of Kannada TV serials in Bangalore and has even tried his hand in a few Kannada films.
Says Hegde, “Khanna & Iyer is a modern day tale about casteism, which is still followed in our country. The seriousness of the issue is however treated in a light-hearted manner. The film is about two lovers who are faced with conflicting cultural values and beliefs, which forces them to run away from home. They are chased by their parents, cops and finally bandits in the jungle. What ensues is a series of adventures and misadventures full of love, drama and comedy.”
He adds, “The film will be appreciated mostly in multiplexes. In Mumbai, the film is being released in Inox, Adlabs, PVR, Fame, Cinemax and Fun Republic theatres.”
