Chetan Anand’s son pays celluloid tribute

MUMBAI: Filmmaker Chetan Anand’s son Ketan has made a 90-minute documentary on his father’s life, in a bid to keep his memory alive.


 


To coincide with his 10th death anniversary, this film, along with Haqeeqat, Heer Ranjha and Neecha Nagar (which won an award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1946) will be screened at the tribute section of Stuttgarts’ International Film Festival in Germany on 11 July 2007.



The film showcases the maker from his childhood till his end. Tom Alter has given the voiceover for this documentary. Ketan will be present at the festival.


 


Chetan Anand, elder brother of Dev Anand and Vijay Anand, was instrumental in setting up Navketan Productions with his brothers in 1950. He passed away on 7 July, a decade ago.
