MUMBAI: Cinepolis India has opened its four screen multiplex at Celebration Mall in Amritsar. The Cinepolis movie complex is the first multiplex theater of the city.
The cinemas features state of the art technology including the first fully digital and Digital 3-D enabled auditoriums in the state of Punjab.
The multiplex will be launched with James Cameron’s Avatar.
Cinepolis India managing director and country head Milan Saini said, "We are excited to open our first multiplex in the country in this great city of Amritsar. With a world class product and a promise to win the hearts and minds of our patrons, we would like to become the number one entertainment option for the city."

Cinepolis plans to open 500 screens by 2016. It has already till date signed 160 screens in 10 cities with more than 10 developers. The company plans to open at least 40 screens in 2010 across the country.
