Dasmunsi releases DVD on Gandhi & freedom struggle

MUMBAI: Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi released the DVDs Swarajnama and Mahatama, brought out by Prasar Bharati.

Based mainly on the material retrieved from Doordarshan archives, the two DVDs provide different facets of India’s freedom struggle and the life of MK Gandhi. Dasmunsi presented the first copy of the DVD to noted film personality Girish Karnad.

Dasmunsi said that these DVDs would be of immense value for the youth, as they provide a deep insight into India’s history of freedom movement. He praised Prasar Bharati’s effort in bringing out these DVDs. He said that Prasar Bharati has already launched a project of rendition of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s songs in Hindi and other Indian languages. He appealed for strengthening the public service broadcasting role of Pasar Bharati.
