MUMBAI: Eros International has acquired the overseas distribution rights for RGV’s Nishabd, directed by Ram Gopal Varma and co-produced by Adlabs.
The movie is slated to release on 2 March 2007, simultaneous to the India release.
Sources also say that after the success of the critically acclaimed Othello-inspired Omkara and the recently released Salaam-e-Ishq and Eklavya, Eros has pocketed global release rights of films including Nishabd, Namastey London and the Aishwarya Rai starrer Provoked.
Nishabd is an unusual love story, starring Amitabh Bachchan and newcomer Jiah Khan in the lead roles. Aftab Shivdasani, Revathi and Rukhsar also star in the film in supporting roles. A sensitive story about human relationships, Nishabd deals with the psychology of a 60-year-old man who falls in love with an 18-year-old girl.
