MUMBAI: E-City Ventures promoted Fun Cinemas will be launching its 2K digital multiplex at Jhotwara in Jaipur. With this implementation, Fun Cinemas is bringing the latest global innovation – 2K Digital Cinema technology to Jaipur.
Located at Triton Mega Mall, the cinema will be inaugurated with Aloo Chaat starrtng Aftab Shivdasani and Aamna Shariff. The multiplex has four screens with a total seating capacity of 959 seats.
Fun Cinemas chief operating officer Vishal Kapur says, “Built over an area of 34,784 sq ft, its the city’s first 2K digital cinema with world class audio visual quality. The auditorium seating arrangement offers different options to choose from –Silver Class, the Gold Class and for the first time in Jaipur, Business Class Recliner seats. Being the city’s only multiplex with Business Class, we are certain to make our patrons feel like a star while watching a movie at Fun Cinemas.”
At present Fun Cinemas has 67 screens across Indian cities like Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Panipat, Gwalior and Agra.
Speaking about the company’s expansion plans, Kapur adds, “We plan to expand and explore more opportunities in tier II and tier III cities in India and capture 15 per cent market share of the exhibition industry by 2011. Besides Jaipur, we are also planning to enter other cities like Jodhpur, Kota, and Udaipur in the same region.”
