Genelia D’Souza exposes darker side in Telugu film

MUMBAI: Genelia D’Souza is known as the sunny girl in Bollywood’s tinsel town. After her pairing with Imran Khan in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na the actress has got a new lease of life. However, things have not always been rosy for the actress. After the debacle of her first hindi film, Tujhe Meri Kasam with Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia ventured towards the Telugu film industry.

D’Souza is considered a successful actress in the Telugu film industry. She said, "I am allowed to experiment with my roles. My latest release will be Katha, which is a dark film and I will be exhibiting a complete different character in that film."

D’Souza has bounced back in Bollywood and her next release here will be Rumi Jaffrey’s Life Partner opposite Fardeen Khan. Produced by Abbas Mustan, the other lead pair in the film is Tusshar Kapoor and Prachi Desai.

After this comedy, she has Ken Ghosh’s Yahoo. Talking about that film brings a smile to her impish face and she exults talking about Yahoo. She said, "Yahoo was so fun. Shahid, Ken and I got along like a house on fire. The dances were tough, but I rehearsed hard for it."

Ken Ghosh too is all praises for his Yahoo heroine and says, "She is so underestimated. Genelia’s dancing really surprised me, she is easily one of the best movers amongst the heroines today."

Hearing that compliment makes D’Souza chuckle. Everything is hunky dory with the actress and even now she is still as busy in Hyderabad doing her Telugu films. Katha, she considers one of her best works, yet.
