MUMBAI: The shooting of producer Subhash R Duragkkar’s Ankush 2 has been completed in Mumbai locales.
Duragkar was also the producer of the original Ankush. While the original was directed by N Chandra, the sequel has been directed by Milind Swamy.
Duragkkar says, “We have completed the shooting of the film. The film will not continue from where we have left off in the first part. But it will have some scenes similar to it, with a new look. The film is set in today’s time. We have five songs in the film, in which we have retained, the bhajan number… Itni Shakti Hamein Dena Daata, Man Ka Vishwas that still sounds fresh and meaningful. We are now in the post-production stages and are planning to release the film in September. Talks are on with a few corporate companies to release the film worldwide.”
“We had registered around four titles including Elaan, but later on, we decided to retain Ankush 2, which goes well with the film and helps it in all perspectives,” he said.
“I have always worked with newcomers and it is easy to complete the film within a short span and budget. Like N Chandra, even Milind Swami, who was once assistant to Umesh Mehra, is new. He has just completed one film in London. An added attraction will be the role of veteran Marathi actress Sarla Yeolekar, who shot to fame with Dance Dance. Her last Hindi film was Nischaiy in 1992. She will be seen once again after a gap of 15 years. ”
The film stars newcomers like Uttam Kumar, Shivam Pandey, Aniket Kelkar, Milind Jadhav, Nisha Pareulekar and Sarla Yevlekar. Music is by Hirender Panjeer.
