MUMBAI: The much awaited movie Dhoom:2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Aishwariya Rai, Bipasha Basu, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra has had a 100 per cent opening on its release today (24 November). What’s more, the first three days after release, the film is expected to be houseful in most theatres across India.
Some of the collections in Mumbai for Dhoom:2 are as follows:
Gaiety (daily four shows) has collected Rs 811,721.40 (28 shows full).
New Excelsior (daily three shows) has collected Rs 460,174.50 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday-full).
Regal (daily one show) has collected Rs 197,437.65 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday-full).
Minerva (daily three shows) has collected Rs 404,999.2 (Friday-full, Saturday only two shows-full, and Sunday-full).
SunCity (daily three shows) has collected Rs 228,876 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday-full).
Last week’s collection at G 7 in Mumbai are as follows:
Gaiety (Apna Sapna Money Money): Rs 610,559.30, discontinued; Dhoom:2 opened.
Galaxy (Don): Rs 235,090.30, discontinued; Apna Sapna Money Money opened.
Gemini (Jaan-E-Mann): Rs 117,068.50, discontinued; Vivah opened.
Gem (Casino Royal): Rs 85,311.10, (six shows) continues.
Glamour (Casino Royal): Rs 71,994 (five shows), World Trade Centre: Rs 10,298.05, discontinued.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com on Dhoom:2, Gaitey Galaxy owner Manoj Desai says, “Yash Raj’s Dhoom:2 is going to be the super hit of this year. The film will do better business than Dhoom. They had made this movie in such a way that it is impossible to blink our eyes in the two and half hours’ time. I think this film will run at my theatre for record number of weeks. Within three days, my 28 shows are houseful.”
