MUMBAI: It has been almost a year since John Abraham has had a release, but the actor has found a smart way to be in the news in spite of the no show of his films in cinema halls.
Abraham’s last release was director Kabir Khan’s New York. Playing the role of a university graduate who becomes a terrorist fresh after the release of his last film, Dostana, where he cozies upto Abhishek Bachchan. Abraham’s fans and critics were wooed by his ability to carry out both roles with effortless ease. But since then the actor has kept a low profile.
With his films still being scripted, Abraham made a couple on entries with girlfriend Bipasha Basu, but that’s about it. However, the actor appears to be all over the small screen. Abraham has a faithful clientele amongst his brands and they have always showcased the actor in the right frame. John said, “I choose my brands with care. It is a relationship that one has to build and be it Castrol, Yamaha or Garnier to name a few, I have had it good.”
The actor has recently signed up with LG and is currently promoting their mobiles with fellow actors, Genelia and Abhay Deol. He was in South Africa a week ago to shoot for the Garnier ad. While the first ad of Garnier was shot in Mumbai on the beaches of Manori, the second time round the brand wanted to capture the exotic location of South Africa and so the unit flew to jungle country for its shooting.
While Abraham is waiting for his directors to finish scripting, be it Nishikant Kamath of Mumbai Meri Jaan fame or Tarun Mansukhani of Dostana, he will start shooting for whichever film that goes on floors first.
