Kamal Sadanah to launch Victoria 203

MUMBAI: Actor turned producer Kamal Sadanah will be launching the remake of his father’s film Victoria 203 in Diwali this year. His father – Brij Sadanah’s Victoria 203 was released in the 1970s.

The film had faced some hiccups when the co-producer Rohit Kumar has backed out of the project.

Sadanah says, “Finally things are moving and I will be launching the remake version of Victoria 203 this Diwali. Budgeted at around Rs 25 million (Rs 2.5 crore), the film will be launched with a song recording. We will be re-recording the song ‘Do Bechare, Bina Sahare’ by music director Viju Shah. Thereafter, we will go ahead shooting the talkie portions later in November – December in Mumbai. I have redesigned a modern Victoria. The base of the subject will be the same but there will be a little turn about in the characters.”

Jimmy Shergill will play the role of Navin Nishchol while Amrita Rao will play Saira Banu. Om Puri will play the role of Pran and Anupam Kher will play Ashok Kumar. The film will be directed by Ananth Mahadevan.
