MUMBAI: With the rains lashing Mumbai city, our Bollywood celebrities have rushed to the sunny climes of London. Leading the way is Shah Rukh Khan. The actor after slogging it out in San Francisco for the better part of a month for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan, is now taking time out to be with his wife and children. A close friend of the actor said, "It is great to see SRK go out to Hyde Park and play with his kids. Currently he is teaching Suhana to ride a bicycle and the girl under the smart tutelage of her father, has picked it up like a pro."
Like SRK, Katrina too is holidaying. The actress, who has been burning the midnight oil for the last few months shooting for her films, De Dhana Dhan, Rajniti and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani will be with her family in London before heading for New York to be with her sister who is studying there. As Katz is sponsoring her studies, she is expected to meet her sister’s tutors to assess her progress.
Another actor who is taking off from work and is in London is Vivek Oberoi. After shooting for Renzil D’Silva’s Kurbaan, Oberoi decided that he needs time off.
Hrithik Roshan flew off to London to keep his wife company. Suzanne, who has a flourishing career in interiors and was busy doing up her house and keeping the termites at bay, was in London with the girlie gang of Gauri Khan and Bhavna Pandey.
While some are holidaying and letting their hair down, there are several actors who are shooting. Sajid Khan’s Houseful certainly has a houseful of actors, and currently they are on a 35 day shooting schedule in London. Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal, Jiah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh will be away for at least 45 days for this film.
Abbas Tyrewala is also shooting his film in London. John Abraham is the lead actor of this film and will remain in London till mid September.
With half the industry’s big wigs out, Mumbai’s glittering social circle certainly will look a bit dull for some days, at least.
