Mirchi Movies to release Vellitherai across India

Mumbai: Mirchi Movies Limited, the filmed entertainment arm of the Times Group, is now gearing up for its foray with South Indian content. Having successfully released its first Tamil film Vellitherai in Tamilnadu and other South Indian states, Mirchi Movies will now release the film on 2 May in other Indian markets.
 
The film will be released in Mumbai, Pune, Goa, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Baroda with English subtitles. Vellitherai released recently in South India to rave reviews and encouraging box office collections.
 
Mirchi Movies COO Munish Purii says, ‘It is our constant endeavor to reach good content to audiences across markets. Tamil speaking audiences in major markets like Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Kolkata, Goa, etc. will now get to view this immensely entertaining film on the big screen. Some of the prints will have subtitles in English for lovers of regional cinema."
 
Vellitherai is co-produced by Mirchi Movies Limited, Moser Baer India Limited and Duet Movies and features the hit Mozhi pair of Prakashraj and Prithviraj, apart from Gopika, Laxmi Rai and MS Bhaskar. This remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Udayananu Tharam is directed by Viji with music by G V Prakash.
 
Mirchi Movies has also acquired the remake rights in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada of the Malayalam blockbuster Chocolate and has signed director Milind Rau, former assistant to Mani Ratanam for a Tamil film called Kaadhal 2 Kalyanam.
