Mukta sells satellite rights of 12 films to Zee

MUMBAI: Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts has sold the satellite rights of its 12 films to Zee Telefilms for Rs 220 million (Rs 22 crores).


The contract has been signed for a period of five years beginning 26 February, 2007 for 11 movies and from June 2008 for the Anil Kapoor starrer Badhaai Ho Badhaai.


The movies that Zee has bought beginning 26 February, 2006 are: Hero starring Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri; Karz starring Rishi Kapoor, Tina Munim and Simi Garewal; Karma starring Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Sridevi and Poonam Dhillon; Saudagar starring Dilip Kumar, Raj Kumar, Vivek Mushran and Manisha Koirala; Pardes starring Shah Rukh Khan and Mahima Choudhary; Taal starring Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai; Yaadein starring Jackie Shroff, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor; Trimurti starring Shah Rukh Khan, Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor; Ram Lakhan starring Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor; Khal Nayak starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit and the Prakash Jha directed Rahul starring Jatin Grewal, Neha, Neena Kulkarni and Gulshan Grover.


What’s more, later this month, Mukta Arts will be announcing six films, which they would be producing next year. This announcement will be made on 24 October, 2006, which incidentally is also the anniversary of the company.


The films would be produced under the Mukta Arts Entertainment banner and would range from directors like Abbas-Mustan, Nagesh Kukunoor and Anees Bazmee. Ghai will also be announcing his next directorial venture on the same day.
