New animation institute Frameboxx launched

MUMBAI: In order to meet the growing demand for quality animators and CG artistes, a new animation and visual effects institute – Frameboxx, has been launched in India.


The new animation and visual effects education centre was launched in Chandigarh on 8 December 2007.


Founded by Naveen Gupta and Rajesh Turakhia, the duo who had earlier been involved in innovating and building one of the animation training brands in India, Frameboxx has been established to drive the industry’s need for super specialists in the field of animation and visual effects.


Frameboxx started its simultaneous operations in 11 cities of India, including seven centres in Delhi, two in Bangalore, and one each in Ludhiana and Chandigarh.


Frameboxx will be launching another 10 centres in the next three months in cities like Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai amongst others.


“India is the most favoured destination for Hollywood and entertainment industry to outsource their animation work, and with the explosion of the media within the country itself, the need for highly trained creative artistes to provide animated contents and visual effects and has the potential to grow at 35 per cent to reach Rs 42 billion by 2009 from current Rs 15 billion. Frameboxx would give our team the opportunity to build a dynamic animation training centre which meets the demand of the industry that spans advertising, gaming, telecom, education, media, and entertainment,” informed Gupta.


“In one years time we shall have at least 50 centres with 10 centres overseas to provide the quality education in CG, animation and visual effects that matches the industry’s requirements. The team of technical experts and experienced faculty at Frameboxx coupled with the positive mandate of every leading animation studio in the country, and the course material attuned to their specific needs, are our biggest strength. Our experience dictates a single point focus on developing a strong ecosystem between the production and the training market in order to provide the highest standards of excellence in animation training,” added Turakhia.


Frameboxx will also be launching on-line animation training and DVD training modules for the working professionals and SOHO segment.


On this occasion, the CEOs of various leading animation studios and film production houses were also present to give their mandate to the new enterprise and assure internship and placement of Frameboxx in their studios, including Art. Ery Animation’s Yunus Bukhari, Zoo Films, UK’s Nicholas Camecho, Pixion’s C.B. Arun Kumar, Contiloe Films’ Rohit Vaid and Rhythm and Hues’ Sesha Prasad.
