Now a sequel to classic Ardh Sathya

MUMBAI: In 1983 producers Pradeep Uppoor and Manmohan Shetty produced a classic called Ardh Sathya, which was directed by Govind Nihalani and had Om Puri, Smita Patil, Amrish Puri, Shafi Inamdar and Sadashiv Amrapurkar in its cast.

Now after 23 years, South director R.M.P.Shetty, who has to his name several Telugu hits will be making a sequel to Ardh Sathya, which will be called Sampoorna Satya, which will yet again have Om Puri in the cast.

“I will be making this sequel after 23 years titled Sampoorna Satya. In fact, I had started writing the story after seeing Govind Nihalani’s Ardh Sathya and it took me 20 years to write it,” reveals Shetty.

“The movie will delve into what happens to Om Puri after he is released from jail after 20 years. In Ardh Sathya, Om Puri fought with only one villain but in my film there will be 26 villains opposite him. Om Puri is not a cop in my film but a simple man. There will another cop, who will be the star of the film,” adds Shetty.

“Since I have been in distribution for last 20 years, it will be easy for me to sell the film for my producer. The story and screenplay, which has been written by me is already ready. The budget of Sampoorna Satya will be around Rs 120 million (Rs 12 crores),” says Shetty.
