Mumbai: Pravesh Sippy, the son of NN Sippy is reviving their famed NN Sippy banner. Vivek Agnihotri of Chocolate fame will be directing the film which stars Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Priyanka Chopra are in the cast. The film reportedly budgeted at Rs. 150 million will mount the sets soon with few portions being shot abroad.
Pravesh Sippy was out of town and was unavailable for comment. Vivek Agnihotri was surprised, but admitted about the project. “I have signed a film for Pravesh Sippy and that’s all I can say at the moment. My job is to direct whatever stars Pravesh signs for the film,” informs Agnihotri.
NN Sippy is known to be acquainted with all aspects of filmmaking. The last film produced under the Sippy banner was in 1999. Titled as Silsila Hai Pyar Ka, the film starring Karisma Kapoor and Chandrachur Singh failed at the box-office. To their credit they have films like Paras (1971), Haar Jeet (1972), Chor Machaye Shor (1974), Kalicharan and Fakira (1976), Ghar and Devtaa (1978), Sargam (1979), Phir Wahi Raat (1980), Ghazab (1982), Meri Jung (1985), Aag Se Khelenge (1989), Aaj Ka Goondaraj (1992) and Teesra Kaun (1994).
