MUMBAI: Preity Zinta is a true team owner. The feisty lady has been in the thick of all her team activities, sharing their defeats and celebrating their victories. But the lady apparently has sought divine intervention to help her and her team to inch their way towards victory.
There is a certain ring on the middle finger of her left hand. It is certainly not a bauble given to her by Ness Wadia. Zinta at the start of the tournament sent a formal e-mail to all her players clarifying that she and Wadia are just business partners. So certainly Wadia is not in the reckoning.
An insider from her team revealed that Zinta was advised to wear this ring to enhance her chances for lifting the coveted DLF IPL trophy. And so the pretty lass has done just that.
But is the ring working or not… Kings XI Punjab has had mixed fortunes as there have been several changes to the playing eleven. The team has not been able to establish their authority on the Championship yet. But with Brett Lee joining the team and Mahela Jayawardene finding the elusive sweet spot on his bat, and buoyed by Captain Yuvraj Singh’s spirited attack, Punjab is still in the race for the semi finals berth.
