MUMBAI: PVR Ltd has informed BSE about the opening of two new multiplexes in the state of Maharashtra, on September 29, 2006 i.e. three screens multiplex with 1148 seats at Latur and another three screens multiplex with 1151 seats at Aurangabad. With the opening of these multiplexes total number of screens would go upto 76 with total seating capacity of 19454. Both the multiplex projects are eligible for exemption from the payment of Entertainment tax for a period of 5 years in terms of Entertainment Tax Exemption Policy applicable in the state of Maharashtra.
The Company has recently launched a new brand of cinemas called "PVR Talkies" to provide enhanced cinema exhibition experience to the viewers of B & C class cities at a lower price range of Rs 40 to Rs 60.
