Rob Reece joins Whistling Woods as head of actor’s studio department

MUMBAI: On the occasion of the 31st Anniversary of Mukta Arts, Subhash Ghai announced the appointment of Hollywood acting and directing instructor Rob Reece as head of department and curriculum advisor for the WWI Actors Studio at Whistling Woods International (WWI).
Present on the occasion were Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik and Susanne Roshan, Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, Rishi Kapoor, Javed Jaffery, director duo Abbas Mastan, Imtiaz Ali and Abbas Tyrewala amongst others.
Reece has been a lifetime member of US-based The Actors Studio for 30 years. Since he has established his own workshop in 1980, he has been a leading proponent of The Method approach. Rob encourages the open expression of the actor’s deepest emotions and the stimulation of real life experiences that bring truth to performances.
Reece will introduce Method Acting to WWI students and will also conduct a workshop on the same for others interested. He said, "I am really thrilled to be at Whistling Woods International and teach Method Acting here as well. I am honored and thankful to Mr. Subhash Ghai who chose me as the Head of Department for the Acting course at such a great world-class Institute."
"We are honored Rob is now a crucial core of our Acting program. In a very real sense, Rob’s influence within WWI’s Acting Program may provide India’s motion picture industry the biggest and most profound benefits from its emerging actors. Rob is a powerful source, who will deliver a major shift," said Whistling Woods International dean John Jr. Lee.
