Saif – Kareena starrer Agent Vinod’s budget reworked

MUMBAI: Illuminati Films which is co-owned by Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan, is facing the brunt of films not faring well at the box office. According to the buzz doing the rounds in the industry, the budget of Illuminati Films’ forthcoming film Agent Vinod has been brought down from Rs 650 million (Rs 65 crore) to Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crore). The movie will star Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

After Saif and Kareena failed to woo audience with Kurbaan, Eros International, the financiers of Agent Vinod, which also stars the duo have decided to slash the film’s budget.

However, speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Vijan said, "Since I am out of town, I am not very clear about what is happening. Once I come back to Bombay I’ll be able to give you a clearer picture. According to my knowledge, there has been no such thing as a slash in the budget."

Agent Vinod is a spy thriller and this will be Illuminati Films’ second release after Love Aaj Kal. The film is being directed by Sriram Raghavan and is slated to go on floors by end February, 2010.
