MUMBAI: Yash Raj Films’ sports blockbuster Chak De! India was honored at the V. Shantaram Awards.
Chak De! India won for Best Film, Best Director (Shimit Amin), Best Actor (Shah Rukh Khan), Best Editor (Amitabh Shukla) and Best Sound (Manas Choudhary, Ali Merchant).
The V. Shantaram Awards are considered a sign of the industry’s recognition for its best achievements and are similar in that to the Oscar awards. Films from all over the country are eligible for the awards.
Yash Raj Films chairman Yash Chopra said, “We are extremely proud of Chak De! India and being awarded ‘Best Film’ by jury of distinguished film personalities makes us even prouder.
