Shemaroo to focus on films, animation content at MIPCOM

MUMBAI: Shemaroo Entertainment is all set to showcase a variety of content at MIPCOM 2009 including films & animation to lifestyle content to suit international audiences.

Shemaroo will take the film BLUE around the globe and distribute it overseas. Besides that Shemaroo is negotiating several deals to syndicate its existing catalogue of more than 600 mainstream Bollywood movies, spanning across different genres and also several award-winning titles; for sales across various regions.

Shemaroo is also bringing new movies like Love Khichdi, lifestyle programming like Rise and Rise of Shah Rukh Khan and animation movies like Super 7 – a 3D CGI animation movie dealing with deforestation.

On the animation side, Shemaroo would be syndicating Animation Series namely: Tina & The Magical Alphabets (2D edutainment, 13X15’ episodes; 4-7 years), Fruit Salad (2D cut-out animation 13X15’ episodes 4-7 years) and will distribute Jungle Tales animation TV series (14X15’ episodes) which has won the national award for edutainment series in India.

In addition to this, Shemaroo Entertainment will be focusing on selling Lifestyle Content to do with beauty, living, travel shows and celebrity cuisine among other categories. One of Shemaroo’s several fast moving lifestyle properties includes Shilpa’s Yoga, featuring Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. Shemaroo will be positioning these at MIPCOM for global broadcast and other rights for various international territories.
