Shilpa Shetty is superstitious

MUMBAI: With four back to back wins, Shilpa Shetty’s Rajasthan Royals is back in the reckoning for the third season of the Indian Premier League. After a poor start, the team is finding momentum and Shetty is really excited. But with the excitement comes a healthy dose of superstitions.

Shetty after winning the last match in a thriller against the Deccan Chargers, said, “I am very superstitious and so is Raj. I will never give an interview before any of my matches. I will save it for after the results. And I am supercharged after the way the boys played.”

Raj is no exception to being superstitious. He said, “My jeans are lucky for me and I have been wearing the same jeans since the IPL started. They are washed and then ironed for the next match.”

Shetty has been with the team along with her husband, sister and parents ever since they bought a 12 percent stake in the franchisee. And unlike Shah Rukh Khan owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, who left the journey in South Africa last year after his team performed pathetically and hit rock bottom and Preity Zinta, who very energetically and enthusiastically was with her team, Kings XI Punjab for two seasons, suddenly has found refuge in the Kumbh mela this year after it was clear that her team would never make it to the semi finals stage. Shilpa has her loyalties firmly in place, irrespective of her team’s fortunes in the playing arena, which am sure, has been a great motivating factor for her boys.
