MUMBAI : The rumour mills are running overtime that Sony Pictures Releasing of India Ltd. (SPRL) has acquired the all India distribution rights of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya – The Royal Guard for a whopping Rs. 250 million.
But according to Vikramjit Roy, manager of publicity for SPRL, the figure is being worked out with both the parties wanting to strike n a better deal. “What exactly is the figure, I won’t quote, till the deal is inked. When the agreement is made we will inform you through an official press release,” said Roy.
Eklavya – The Royal Guard has a formidable cast comprising of Amitabh Bachchan, Sharmila Tagore, Munnabhai Sanjay Dutt, Parineeta pair Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan with Jimmy Shergill, Boman Irani and Raima Sen. A start-to-finish shooting for the film was held in Rajasthan last October – November and that too without any fanfare.
