Sony Pictures’ Uday Singh to join PVR Pictures as CEO

MUMBAI: PVR Pictures has appointed ex-Sony Pictures India’s executive vice president production Uday Singh as CEO. As was first reported by Businessofcinema.com, Singh’s last working day at Sony was on 30 January.

In his new role as CEO, Singh will handle the movie distribution and production aspects of the company; thus indicating that PVR Pictures Films Cell current CEO Ashish Saksena will no longer handle this portfolio. However, details on Saksena’s new portfolio were not forthcoming.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Singh said, "I will be joining PVR Pictures as a CEO to handle their distribution and production."

Singh is likely to join PVR Pictures sometime next week, however, the date hasn’t been finalized yet.

At the time of filing this story, PVR managing director Ajay Bijli was unavailable for comment, whereas Saksena declined to comment on the development.
