Sony to release You Don’t Mess With The Zohan in India

Mumbai: Sony Pictures Entertainment is set to release Columbia Pictures’s You Don’t Mess With The Zohan in India on 19 September. The film is directed by Dennis Dugan and stars Adam Sandler, John Turturro, Emanuelle Chriqui, Rob Schneider and Mariah Carey.

Sandler has not only acted in the film, but also written it along with Robert Smigel who has earlier written films like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Saturday Night Live and many more and Judd Apatow the writer of films like Knocked Up, Fun with Dick and Jane etc.

The story of the film revolves around Zohan Dvir (Adam Sandler), an Israeli Mossad agent who dreams of becoming a hair stylist. On a mission to recapture the Phantom, a known terrorist, he takes advantage of the showdown to fake his own death. Armed with his scissors and his coveted book of hip hairstyles, he heads for America. Shunned by the up-tight salons of New York, he makes a name for himself in a lesser-known shop. Word of his extra special attention to detail spreads and soon the women start lining up to sit in Zohan’s chair. As enemies old and new try to take him out, they all come to learn the same thing: You don’t mess with the Zohan.

Sony and Sandler have shared a lucrative relationship with six of his top 10 films netting over $726 million in the U.S. and $1.1 billion Worldwide in the past and that is what is expected out of the upcoming projects too.

The film has already cast its spell on World Wide audience as it was released in June Worldwide. It has been termed as an out of league film that Sandler has ever acted in.
