MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan’s debut television serial Fauji, which transformed him into an overnight heart throb, is all set to be re-telecast. The serial, which premiered on Sahara One on 13 November, will be telecast from Monday to Friday at 10 pm. Fauji was earlier telecast on Doordarshan way back in 1988.
Sahara One Media and Entertainment CEO Shantonu Aditya says, “A new generation has come up since 1988, which knows SRK as only the film star. Sahara wants to bring back Fauji and showcase SRK’s journey; his first serial and his first exposure to the Indian audience. Moreover, SRK’s popularity on the silver screen will help bring TRPs to Sahara.â€ÂÂ
The rights for Fauji have been purchased from Jayantilal Gada of Popular Entertainment Network. Directed by Colonel R.K. Kapoor, Fauji was one of the most popular serials of its time, and is still remembered as SRK’s debut vehicle.
It is an army based TV serial, which features Khan as Abhimanyu Rai; and traces his life from being an irresponsible youngster who trains to become a commando, to finally maturing into a responsible army man.
