Mumbai: Star One is ready to launch a new reality show– Pehchaan Kaun?. This is the first of its kind ‘original’ hunt for India’s Best Impersonator. Combing the length and breadth of the country and looking for contestants who can copy the style and voice and come closest to mimicking their favorite celebrity, the contestants will be judged on the basis of:
à Likeness Quotient – how closely does the contestant resemble the celebrity?
à Voice Similarity – does the contestant sound like the original?
à Entertainment quotient – how entertaining is the act?
Pehchaan Kaun?will be on the lookout for contestants who are inspired by their favourite icon – it could be a bollywood star, politician or even a TV star! How close can he come to his icon – his style, his voice, and his personality…an all rounder of his icon.
The auditions for Pehchaan Kaun?began on 8 October across eight cities– Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Lucknow, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Baroda.
Star One EVP and general manager Ravi Menon said, " Pehchaan Kaun? is the first of its kind show being televised on Indian television. The unique concept and interesting format will surely get the audiences glued to the channel. Also, in our country where there is no dearth of talent we are hoping to present the viewers with a real winner who best impersonates a celebrity. With the auditions beginning next month, we are hoping to see some great responses from the audiences."
